Ricardo Gomez (b. 1996, Detroit, Michigan) is an artist based in Ypsilanti, Michigan whose practice is shaped by four years of monastic life. His work explores the human condition through a cross-cultural lens, drawing inspiration from Mesoamerican indigenous cultures and Eastern spiritual traditions. Informed by themes of karma, reincarnation, and transformation, his paintings examine forces that shape individual and collective identity through a materially driven approach.
